Formula D might have some competition in the future because this event is growing FAST. 2023 is going to be a killer season and this video should give you a taste of what’s to come.
In 2022 HotPit Autofest (@hotpitautofest) launched their brand new grassroots-drifting event. Holding 3 events that year, they saw huge growth after each event and have even more spectacular things lined up for 2023 with 5 rounds including the renowned “House of Drift” location, Irwindale Speedway in Southern California.
Irwindale Speedway is widely known as The House of Drift, starting nearly 20 years ago with D1GP and Formula Drift taking main stage. Back then, drifting was much more about the local, Grassroots drivers trying to make a name for themselves. Many of the current pro’s began their journey way back when with their personal, hand-built drift cars; just like what you see here in this event!
HotPit Autofest is one of the fastest growing and most exciting events in Southern California and I was excited to get this video filmed and put together for you guys to see. So many cool, unique builds and awesome drivers and crew who put on a fantastic event that is definitely not one to miss.
This video was filmed back in September and, as the new HotPit season approaches, I felt now was the perfect time to get inspired and release it so you guys know what to look forward to this year!
It was definitely tough shooting photos while simultaneously recording these videos for you which resulted in some shaky footage and audio level issues, plus I was missing some necessary hardware that didn’t come in time for the event. However, I hope you guys still enjoy the video in spite of all this!
Be sure to check out this event, especially if you’re local! You won’t want to miss it. Events will be held at both Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California, and Orange Show Speedway located in San Bernardino, California.
